  County of Lethbridge Literacy Program                         Member of Literacy Alberta

  Our Mission Statement
  To assist adult learners with their individual goals to improve their reading, writing
  and or communication skills through a volunteer one-to-one tutoring program.

  The Literacy Program has a dual mandate, to promote literacy in the County and
  to recruit, train and match tutors with literacy students.

  As a student you will receive:
     - Free, one-to-one help from a trained tutor
     - Learning based on your needs
     - A schedule suitable to your time
     - Confidentiality
     - Support and friendship
     - A chance to improve your skills
     - Language training for new Canadians

  We welcome anyone who wants to contribute to his/her community by
  volunteering to tutor.  Our program is active and growing, and as a team we are
  working to improve literacy rates in our area.  We know that our efforts make a
  difference.  Volunteer tutors are offered ongoing training and support.

     - Acess to resource library
     - A chance to make a difference in your community
     - A chance to make a difference in your student's life
